What We Do

Mission Statement

The Employee Safety and Benefits Section serves to administer DHHS programs in the areas of Safety and Health, Workers' Compensation, Employee Assistance, Wellness, Drug Free Workplace, Violence in the Workplace, Work/Life, State Employees Incentive Bonus, Criminal Records Checks, and Employee Benefits. Their overall mission is to ensure consistent, accountable compliance with federal, state, and department policies and regulations, and to institute other programs designed to promote the well-being of our employees, clients, and students. To accomplish this, the Employee Safety and Benefits Section is responsible for the development of policies and procedures, provision of technical assistance and consultative services, monitoring and evaluation of the development and implementation of programs, and provision of staff training and resources.
